I think it is a bit silly to be taking the crass actions of some people to be some kind of "ah! see! you indie-integrity-music first types are all capitalist bastards too!" sort of thing. There are millions of musicians worldwide who are doing it themselves, DIY/indie style without being jerks about it, or embracing shady corporate practices not disimilar from what lots of major label artists have done to keep them in the public eye, displayed in the record shops, and played on the tv/radio.
Please don't try to lump all the non-popstar musicians together, okay? |
