Afro Ken

I've never really understood this whole Japanese cute cartoon thing. Hello Kitty, held almost no appeal for me, and often was a case of overkill. This time, Afro Ken, I don't know what to think. Its a dog, with an afro, which changes shape when it gets near other afro shaped things which are called "moko moko". It's afro changes shape, because it wants to be friends with the "moko moko" which makes it happy.

of course it is.

am I the only one who doesn't get this? What exactly is appealing about this cartoon dog? I'm starting to see the little fucker everywhere...

Hello Kitty was just a blatant rip-off of Miffy.

This... hmm, a cute little dog... with an afro.

Hmm. I'm unsure. I like cute little dogs... even cartoon ones. But the whole changing its hair when it gets near others because it wants to be liked...

does he find many other dogs with afros? Cos there're precious few when my dog goes out for her morning walk.

Of course, there are loads of cartoon dogs with more mainstream hair when my dog goes out walking...

I don't think it necessarily has to be a dog for afro ken to be friends with it. One picture of him has bloody turntables in his afro!

Huh. I thought he was just an invention of Hot Topic to sell toys. Weird.

What is understood does not need to be discussed.

What is not understood cannot be discussed.

There is only one way you can learn this, and that is by experience. Not by glances at people with Afro Ken accessories. Not by reading about Afro Ken. Not by discussing Afro Ken with a group of Internet subversives.

You are wasting your life. Buy in!
