Well, virtually everything about Soulseek is better than Kazaa.
The four best reasons:
1. Soulseek is completely devoid of spyware, whereas Kazaa is loaded with the stuff.
2. Soulseek has a better selection of music than any other filesharing service, particularly if you are looking for obscure music. Kazaa's selection is pathetic, really. The selection is the biggest draw, I'd say.
3. Kazaa is the most visable and widely used p2p application, and as such is far more likely to be shut down in the upcoming months. Soulseek is comparatively tiny, and very unlikely to be dealt with by the RIAA any time soon.
4. Soulseek allows you to be involved in a community with chat applications, an ability to create a list of favorite users, a wishlist function which tells you when searches of rare songs find something, and for $5 per month you can get special downloading priveleges. |
