anyone see the prog midweek beeb 2 about near death experiences: and how the consciousness might be distinct from the brain and can exist, at least temporarily, outside of the body, when the brain has been shut down?
Anyway, at yon quantum level, the consciousness exists as information which may or may not be released, like bubbles floating to the top of a fizzy drink, when the brain shuts down. Due to a phenomena known as quantum entanglement this information sticks together, like a cloud, and could be explained as the sense of seeing oneself during brain ops etc. this information cloud, AKA your consciousness, is floating above your body. This theory was developed when some anurism victim was being operated on. Her brain was shut down and the top of her skull lopped off. She heard a conversation regarding the narrowness of her arteries and how they weren't suitable for draining blood. Neurologically, she had been shut down and could not have sensed this. Thus the floating mind theory.
Anyway, can you imagine?
Oh yeah, so it's not too far fetched to think their might br a drug out there which induces the right conditions. |
