So I'm curious if anyone's ever done any workings involving John Lilly's Earth Coincidence Control Office. I'm trying to come up with a general approach to make contact, in general by just looking out for synchronicities and then mentally attributing it to them. But there might be more that could be done--leaving little "messages" for them around, etc. I'm also curious about the potentials for perhaps a servitor-messenger sort of interaction with ECCO... in the past I've had some definite increases in synchronicity just by starting to think about ECCO and attempting to relate to it as real, but have never played with it for too long.

On a side-note, as this idea struck me today I suddenly realized where I'd first heard of ECCO--the Sega Genesis game ECCO the Dolphin. John Lilly being both the isolation-tank dolphin-telepath experimenter and the "discoverer" of Earth Coincidence Control Office, I gotta wonder who was in charge of coming up for the name of that particular game. In any case, as I walked and contemplated this and the fun possibilites I looked up and saw "SILENCE" written in chalk on the gutter of a building that I'd never seen things written on before. huh.

One thing I recal John Lilly saying is that the ECCO stuff was hime "just getting in touch with my bones and my teeth" - cannot remember where on Earth this quote comes from. Will look through magazine stash and get back to you. Implies that there's some sort of body contact going on here refracted through grnadiose cosmic visions, I suppose.

Side note - you might try something to do with Floatation tanks? If you've got money to burn. (I used to work in one of these btw, so did a fair few floats, but always found the experience was that enjoyable in itself that I never had the urge to impose anything magickal on top of it).

Note that Lilly was using a lot of Ketamine in his iso-tank experiments when he contacted ECCO.

Lilly basically pioneered dolphin research and established just how intelligent they are. THey are hihgly evolved, highly social, and have very advanced communication abilities, not to mention the ability to "view" inside of each other using sonar, then use that same sonar to heal injuries and illnesses. In all likelihood they are probably more advanced sentient creatures than humans.

Yeah, it's definite deoxy-ish hippie stuff, but A) I have a warm place in my heart for them, having introduced me to Alan Watts and RAW in high school and thus leading to a lot of good personal growth, and B) It doesn't really matter to me.

Granted, he was on Ketamine, but as I see it that shouldn't matter--that probably just made the experience more intense. I'm not necessarily looking for face-to-face full blown hallucinogenic conversation (though that would be cool), just some synchronistic interactions and fun, and a good working relationship. heh.

Yeah, I didn't mean this in a negative way, just putting the info out there for clarity. I don't believe that his (or anyone's) experience is any less valid bacause it was enabled by drug use. There are many ways to open the senses to other realities - drugs are just one way.

Suffice it to say though that Lilly might not have contacted "ECCO" without Ketamine.
