I thought that particular bit of kitsch enlivened the last issue immensely, the change of pace was welcome; and next ish has Captain Cold, so...

Regarding the magic, Indiana Jonesy stuff - the only real discussion Ed and I had was when I was bugging him to write something more fun after all the grimness of the "Relentless" storyline. The specifics were all up to him.

Glad you enjoyed it!

The Captain Cold issue was great, too, Cameron & Ed. I love Cameron's Selina! And his Lenny Snart (Capt. Cold) is lots of fun too. Great storytelling and pacing. Who will they meet in Opal, I wonder? Jack Knight? The Shade? Too bad Ted Knight isn't alive anymore....maybe Courtney, the new Star-Spangled Kid? And what will be the consequences of that magical cat statue thingie??

I am truly surprised at how distressed i am at the news of the artist change on Catwoman. I am more of a writer-oriented comic fan, and have never dismissed a book with good writing just because of the art. However, the art style of the current Catwoman series is ESSENTIAL to the feel of the book. Brubaker is a very compotent writer, and i usually enjoy his stories. Combined with Cooke/Stewart artwork, it makes Catwoman one of my favorite books, one of the few comics i will just flip through repeatedly just to admire the beautiful artwork. Putting a "realistic" "tits n' ass" artist like gulacy on the book will, well, make it a completley different series.
IT just will not be the same book. I have never dropped a book because of an artist change before. I enjoy New Xmen, and i quite like Quitley, and believe his art did play big part in the feel of the book, but when he didn't draw it, it was still the same book, just with a different artist. With Catwoman, the style change is so drastic, i just don't think it will be anything like it was before, even with Brubaker writing it. I havent decided if i'm actually going to drop the title, i do enjoy it, but......
god, i sound like such a fanboy.
how does everyone else feel about what i've said about the art style of this particular title being so essential to it?

CATWOMAN #22 is the absolute shit. You should all be reading it. Seriously. Go check out Randy Lander's review at www.thefourthrail.com for a synopsis/review if you like.

Great work, Ed and Cameron.

Oh, and Cameron, if you are the mystery artist on Seaguy - I want a Seaguy/Aquaman team-up oneshot (or guest appearance by Aquaman)!!
