I'm learning Dutch because in order to read the scurrilous, slashtastic letters - which I am sure must exist - between William III and Willem Bentinck (or, indeed, Arnold Joost van Keppel) in the original I have to be able to translate C17 Dutch - and Italian, Spanish, French, Latin...
