Is it possible to call in a remote huggle airstrike? Like, for other people?

Okay.
There's this homeless kid begs on our street. Really nice kid, apparently about 14, realy shouldn't be living in doorways. He's been missing for a few days.

I got woken up on Saturday morning by a dog crying, and opwned my eyes to see flashing blue lights. My first thought was that a dog had been hit by a car. I looked out of the window- an ambulance, 2 pig cars, and a dog, safe and sound, tied to the fence with someone next to it. So I went back to sleep.

I've just been told that this kid was found comatose outside the shop next door on Saturday morning. There's rumours going around the local homeless that he's dead, but seeing as how one of his best friends on the street just told me the hospital won't give him any details as he doesn't know his surname, I'm hoping that's just rumours. (And if I had got up to go see what was happening, I wouldn't have made any difference to whatever's happened. I tell myself.)

Aaargghh. Please send huggles his way if possible.

Aaargghh. I've vented now. I'm gonna be silly for the next half hour before I go to bed.

Just found out he is alive. Don't know what state that means... don't know if that means he gets packed off to a kids' home... don't even know if the latter's not such a bad idea. Not quite so worried now, but still fucking worried nonetheless.

Jeee-sus...really don't know what to say except sorry...not sure how well you know this kid, whether you speak to him or not, but I think the best thing you can do is just be around for him if he returns, let him know he can talk to you...I know it's not much but that's all the advice I can muster right now...I hope things turn out OK - huggles from me to you and him.

I know him pretty well... we've offered to put him up a few times, but it's hard enough even getting him to accept money from either of us (myself and my flatmate), even though he'll "beg for England" generally... it'll be pissing down with rain and he'll say shit like "Nah (my real name here) you always give me money... I'm not asking for anything").

I may sound like a mug but the kid's okay, and so doesn't deserve to die in someone's doorway. Hence I'm incredibly glad he didn't.

Cheers for the support, Hattie.

You really couldn't have done anything useful if you'd got up to see what was happening - the ambulance and police were already there - if you'd gone down they just would've told you everything was under control and to go back indoors. So try not to worry about that...

Double huggles, for you and he. From my dogs, too.

I'll join in the huggles. I hope you hear from the boy in the future so you know how life turns out for him.

I used to work with homeless people. When I did, I often found them to be very interesting and friendly people. Many people are scared of homeless people, but I'm sure they've got more to fear from others than we have to fear from them. Believe it or not, I knew a young homeless guy who was attending law school! I'd love for that to have worked out, but last I heard he wasn't doing very well. It's not easy to study while living in doorways, beaches and youth refuges.

An older guy I knew used to live near the wharf in a shipping container that apparently had been his home for many years. The shipping container was considered to be his property and he was well known around that area. He had a friend who managed a four star hotel. Every now and then, when business was relatively quiet, this hotel manager would invite to the hotel for dinner and a room for the night. Presumably a shower or bath was first, though.

Anyway, I've got stories coming out of my ears (so to speak), and the point is to wish the kid health and happiness.
