I don't suppose anyone has a version/remix/bootleg/whatever of Damian Marley's "Welcome To Jamrock" called "Welcome To England"? Can't remember the name of the artist, but it was basically "Jamrock" with the lyrics changed, so that it was about inner city England rather than Jamaica... mentioned the 7/7 London bombings and stuff...

IIRC there was a reggae mix (the same rhythm track as the original), a hip hop mix and a jungle mix of it. I'd particularly like to get hold of the jungle mix, but any of them would be well appreciated...

Just as a bit of info for all y'all;

some of my local mates and I have been having good luck with WASTE, which is basically a specialized p2p network. Basically, I start running it, give you my IP, you can get to the files I share and I can get to yours. Then, someone else connects to your IP, they can get to both of us... etc. It's all fully encrypted, has chat built in, and seems to work really well.

Anyway, I'm sharing the link in the thought that it might be useful to any of you folk who want to share your gigs of stuff with each other but not let the whole world in on it. Perhaps a barbelith-wide waste network... ah, one can dream.

About five or six years ago I heard a song on BBC Radio One's Lamacq Live show called 'Cheerleader' by Burning Love Jumpsuit(s). It was a 'mash-up' of that awful 'Buck Rogers' song Feeder did and a cheerleader chant about how wonderful it is to be popular, and after five minutes the song changed to something so awesome they can't play it on the Radio. A search has turned up nothing- I must have this (probably rubbish) song, but I don't want to spend any money...

I have an MP3 of that track knocking about which I downloaded years ago.

Unfortunately though, it turned out to be a massively inferior version to the one Peel used to play on the radio; it sounds kind of like a demo of the basic idea before they made the proper track or something.

Still: can email it to you or whatever if you like.

The cheerleader chant btw, which is the main reason the track is good, comes from the movie 'Bring It On'.

Actually, that first link's a bit shit, and I messed up the html on the second one, but, er, suffice to say, it exists, it's real, promo copies have been leaking onto the internet over the past few days.... I'm sure you can google and whatnot.

Well, if I did have an mp3 of the new Stooges album, I probably wouldn't be sharing it now would I?

A'right, a'right...anyone able to pass me a full copy of Space Ritual on the sly? I'm a mite patched for cash and I just need space rock, but all my vinyl's in storage after a house move...

I come seeking aid my barbrethren...

Yesterday I was shopping in ye olde sydney towne when I came across the most amazing vinyl... The Omar Rodriguez Group & Damo Suzuki doing 'Please Heat This Eventually'.

I'm a big Mars Volta/Omar Rodriguez fan, and I was totally blown away when I saw Damo Suzuki last year, so I just had to have it...

Only problem is, I don't have an amp for my turntable, so I can't listen to it... I know, I probably shouldn't have bought it at all, but I figured I could at least download it in good conscience if I owned the vinyl... So, hook a brother up?

Ok, I've found mp3 files for Side A and Side B on eMule, Side A is doing alright, B is going really slowly, but hopefully I'll be able to get them both that way.

Thanks to Tsuga and anyone else who spent some time looking around for me.

One of my favourite remixes of all time is the Deep Dish mix of De'Lacy's Hideaway, and I have the track as both the part of a compilation (Back to the old school: club classics) and separate track (bought legally from Juno) lasting all of 11:51 minutes, but what I really, really would like to have is the snappier edit of which the track from the comp is taken from.

anyone?

Cos', duh, I could've bought it illegally from Juno.

Come to think of it, my parents have cards they never use....

This is a little more involved than a straight-up song request, but it is still a request for an audio file, so I guess this is the place.

If anyone out there happens to have a copy of the movie The Return of Captain Invincible, could you possibly be so kind as to record Patty Patria's line "This is the American Eagle Network, broadcasting one last time... for all of you out there who still believe in fairies, heroes, second chances... love and trust. Captain, they're playing your song." for me? I want to sample it, but I no longer have easy access to the movie. I just need that line, and maybe a few seconds on either side. Thank you so much if you can help!

Maybe this is an easy one- maybe it's not:

I've been looking for the Iggy Pop song 'Skull Ring' from the album of the same name for like forever, or at least since hearing him play it at All Tomorrow's Parties a few months back. See, I don't want to get the album because Mr. Pop does songs with Green Day and Sum 41, and I refuse to let a single cent of my money go to those twatplasters.

Can anybody...Hook a Brother Up?

This isn't really a straight MP3-request, but I also wasn't sure that it deserved it's own thread.

Alrighty, I'm looking for a program that will let me encode DVD-Audio to MP3...

I got Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come DVD-Audio 5.1 Mix a while ago, and whilst I realise I can't put all 5.1 channels onto MP3, I'd love to be able to encode the Stereo version that's on the DVD because the mixes are a lot better than the originals in my opinion.

Anyone know where I could start?

Right, I've already been a greedy bugger and hounded after Space Ritual. Now for summat a little more tricky. Does anyone out there have access to either a copy of -

Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters or Viv. Stanshall's Gentlemen opening umbrellas ahead? As before, I will swap copies of whatever I can offer (a heck of a lot of blues/jazz/60s garage)

Not that I want to drown this thread in my witterings, but would a body be able to source a copy of 'winchester cathedral' by the new vaudeville band? I'm mad keen to find one, as it was writ large all over my childhood but the 45's gone AWOL since we moved. Bum.

Help?

Would anyone happen to have any De Dannan tracks that feature Caroline Lavelle playing cello? She was on their Ballroom album, which as far as I can tell exists now only in the form of very cassettes that people sell on amazon for fifty dollars...

You want Soulseek, old son. Ditch that silly Limewire.
