I think this is great. A melting of reality where the imaginary are given life, (which is no different than a corporation having rights). Fuck, I don't even know how to verbalize something that is so surreal. Does Marvel care about it's own "children" in a spiritual sense? Guess not, which then really tells me (in my opinion on this line) how much respect they have for their artists and writers-none.
But on the flipside, these are plastic toys and perhaps by saving money, and getting reembursed for past overpaid tariffs, they have more money to spend on getting movies made and paying said artists and writers. What do I know about the machinations of Marvel? Nothing, I'm talking out my ass
Looked at another way, maybe any outrage anyone feels, while being fully entitled to it as an individual, might be kind of misplaced. These are abstractions we are talking about, Maya, illusions. But we (at least I do) feel something for these characters on some level, so to have the characters mistreated, might make me feel something along with the cynical humor I currently feel. I have characters myself, they can take a life of their own. I've heard even living as thought forms or tulpas (though not in my experience at that level) Shit, ask G.M.
Oh well, the bottom line- mixed reaction in my. I think it is both funny and sad in equal portions together.
One guy, many opinions.
Burning Man, out. |
