So me and one of my friends have blagged a slot next Thursday night, at Bill Drummond's boho bar the Foundary (just off Old Street, Hoxton area, London) to play odd music all evening. I reckon a fair few 'lithers will enjoy this sort of thing, so all you lovely lot are invited down.
We spontaneously decided to form a band last night, named it today (Kahoonas Apparent) and are due to play next week. Ultimate act of punk-itude or musical suicide? Turn up and decide for yourself. Expect some sort of keyboards, bass and drum machine Throbbing Gristle-esque noise. Bring some sort of noise-making device and join in...
The rest of the night I'm taking the opportunity to DJ some music that doesn't get played out enough- ie. Kid 606, The Boredoms, C64 music, Add N to X, Fridge, Stereolab, Yo La Tengo, etc. Post-rock, leftfield pop, experimental electronics and noise. Music for Wire readers. So if you want to have an evening of listening to this sort of music played LOUD, then come on down. It's free and the drinks are cheap.
