Is Zac Goldsmith the real Mason Lang?

I recently read an article about Zac Goldsmith in an italian newspaper. This guy was portrayed as an enlightened millionaire who is trying to convert all the enterprises he owns in something that really cares for consumers and citoyens.
I'm very fascinated by these kind of figures; I'm conivnced that if we want a real change we don't have to fight directly against the system, but to enter it and change it as insiders. So, kind of people as this Goldsmith can be very useful, as Mason Lang was in Invisibles.
However, I'm veru aware of press tricks, so this is my question to all the Brits out there: is this Goldsmith to be trusted?

There is a Guardian profile here. He is the son of the tycoon James Goldsmith who founded the Referendum Party. Extremely rich. Haven't really heard much else about him. Good luck to him but I wouldn't take his politics more seriously than anyone else just because his family is incredibly wealthy.

Zac Goldsmith is totally dedicated to what he says he is - fighting globalisation, corporate rule (and the hundreds of other crucial issues)and his work should not be in any way disregarded just because he has a lot of money.

The Ecologist is just about the only thing I read that tells me what's really going on in the UK and the world.

Maybe he'll get Grant to blow up his house as part of the next stage of the Disinformation conspiracy.

Apologies for bumping this so long after it had sunk down, but I'd just like to throw this into the mix. Not in any way to criticise the Ecologist, not in any way to belittle the magazine, and not to criticise things in any way: just something I think people should be aware of.
