This is from Animalman, right. I don't know whether to put this thread in the Magick, Comic Books, or Laboratory moderators feel free to move this were ever suitable.

So is this something Grant Morrison invented or something he borrowed? Is it something like The Green in Swampthing? Can someone please explain the concept to me and/or provide links?

heh... all hail the scynchromancy that is Barbelith.
A friend just mailed me this link, not even had a chance to fully read it.

Ouch! but it is from the skeptic side of things.

If you want to find out more, may I suggest you read Rupert Sheldrake "A New Science of Life" [isbn 0-586-08583-1] for the full story. He has also suggested "Seven Experiments That Could Change the World".

Actually, maybe you could start with this interview at Sheldrake's own site!

Another great book dealing with the science and connection between energy fields and morphology (morphogenic fields) is

THE BODY ELECTRIC: Electromagnetism and the foundation of life.
Robert O. Becker M.D. and Gary Selden

I like this quote from mixmage's link:

"And indeed for Sheldrake, the 'laws' of the universe may not in fact be laws at all, but rather deeply ingrained habits of action which have been built up over the many eons in which the universe has spun itself out."

It succinctly sums up Sheldrake's theory of morphogenetic fields.
