recently ive started to feel a lack of insperation, like ive gotten stuck in my magickal workings. I guess thats the way it should be... But i would like it noit to be like that, so now i would like to ask you people about youre workins with different godforms.

Wich do you work with?
What do you do?
How do you do it?
And anyone got any other ideas?

Im not gonna steal youre godforms or rip of youre rituals. I got godforms (ive told you about them in previous posts) enough to work with, i just need to find out something new to do, taking it to the next level, to use a cliché.

ill be realy thankful for any help, ideas.

Try a change of scenary. I always find a walk in the park, countryside, beach, etc. is good for firing up the creative jucies.

There are skadilions of God/desses associated with Inspiration. There's the Greek Muses (lovely ladies, 9 in all), Ogma in the Irish tradition, Odin in the Norse. Creativity was a valued part of most pre-television societies.

If you've got a creative block then one way to tackle it is to try and be creative in another medium. So if you normally write poetry, try a short story, or paint, or write a song, etc. Then you can normally get back to your original medium afresh.

Or, you could leave out offerings for the Creativity Fairies. Be careful, they are rather picky about what they like. However, it's well worth it if they are satisfied.

Perhasp you could try a different way of working, rather than a different god. Maybe something more devotional, rather than the full on ritual gnosis workings? use of dreaming. Dunno, depends on how you normally work. There are lots of good ideas in the "Evoking Pan" thread below(do a search).

You could do a lot worse than look at Crowley's - chock full of ideas.

I'd hazard a guess that what you're experiencing is something pretty natural to all creative pursuits that require dedicated and prolonged work, and not just magick. As soon as you reach a point where you've achieved a level of technical expertise or have started to feel comfortable with what you're doing, you can fall quite easy into a bit of a rut, the work can start to feel like less of an exploration/adventure and more like a habit, and the only way out of this is to shake things up again. Do something different, explore an area where you get that 'out of your depth' feeling, anything that makes you access the beginners mindset again - along with all the wonder and 'magic' it brings to your work.

about your workings with different god forms.

This is meant as no disparagement on your good self, but I really hate the term 'godforms'. As far as I'm aware, the origin of the term comes from the Golden Dawn and refers specifically to physical body postures adopted by practitioners to align them with the God or Goddess of their choosing. For example, adopting the posture of Horus in an Egyptian hieroglyph as an aspect of invocational work. (If I have my facts wrong here, please correct me). The term has since become a kind of 'sanitised' substitute for God or Goddess that to me seems to indicate on some level that you don't 'really' believe in the objective reality of the entities you're dealing with, but consider them as something along the lines of archetypal forms found in the collective unconsciousness rather than independent beings with their own interests and agendas.

My position on the psychological model of magick, is that whilst it's a workable paradigm to apply to what you're doing, and can be useful for discussing your bizarre practices in a rational manner with people, it can actually be a bit of an obstruction for certain aspects of magick. Particularly for entity work, as you're effectively making a denial of the reality of the entities your dealing with, if you talk about them in terms of aspects of the self/unconscious mind. I see this as a kind of psychological safety net/comfort zone which can sometimes actively prevent you from getting to the wilder scarier edges of magickal practice, which is where the most interesting things generally start to happen.

Having got the rant out of the way, the best piece advice I could give anyone about entity/spirit work is that it's all about relationships, personal relationships between you and other independent beings. Therefore, consider how you would treat a powerful human being, for instance a martial arts master or Mafia Don, and make this the baseline level of behaviour for interaction. If you're willing to accept that these entities are real, then by definition they should not be at your beck and call, and they certainly don't owe you anything just because you're smart enough to figure out how to contact them. Be polite and courteous. The close study of a book on corporate negotiation could serve as a more effective guide to entity work that the Lesser Key of Solomon. Don't rush into anything unprepared, and try to respond positively and creatively if anything doesn't go according to plan.

Through them down the toilet. Maybe that would be your next level.

Alternatively, I've never tried this but I recently read about it and I became curious. Ask one of them to manifest in a friend's dream. Then ask your friend if he is having some atypical dreams and correlate.

Oh... just toss them away, and let them know you are doing it. And change, change, become a zen monk, an urban shaman, change your meditation, your workings, whatever, there's plenty a things to do. Once you let the feeling of lack of insipiration wear off by itself your mind will be bombarded by them.

I'm not gonna steal your godforms or rip off your rituals. – Mr. Coffee Bean

Deities are notoriously hard to steal.

It does seem that you have reached a plateau phase in your magickal working, and oten times the best thing to do in such a situation is to keep working at it but from a different angle. That's not quite the same as starting up a whole new practice, because if you do that then you'll start feeling this pattern of

new thing – rut – give up – new thing – rut – give up – new thing...ad nauseam.

So keep doing whatever it is you're doing, but skew your perception slightly so as to see it a wee bit differently. For example, instead of looking for different deities to work with, try finding different ways to approach the ones you already have a relationship with. Try a different incense, or put different music on during ritual, and see what happens. Compare and contrast your result with notes from past rituals.

Thanks alot for the repleay! lots of good ideas!
realy thanks to Gypsy Lantern for that long post, ill promise, ill will never again use th eword godfoms again. Stupid word. Havent gor a clue why i started using it. Never had earlier...

maybe using the gods ive been workong with before and try to build ur/ write a mythologhy around them, stories, urban myths or whatever and put them into a bigger action than my head. Some of these gods are older than me, some my same age and have been hanging around me since 5 or 6 years old, some might be newborn... i dont know, im not realy sure how long some of this gods have been around.
Maybe putting them into a mythologhy and writing stories about them could be one way...
i know they , most of them anyway, would love such an idea...
