I thought I saw an old thread based on this subject, but I looked through pages 1-23 of something like 28 pages of threads and didn't find it. I also did a search (silly Hunter!) and nothing turned up.

So what about this magickal number? I saw it in a dream last month -- I was in a neighborhood of NYC and there was a subway station that said "777th St" on it (you know, the green entrances to the subways from the street with the lighted globes).

A recent link posted to the 11:11 thread just said 777 and 888 are numbers of higher spiritual evolution. I tried Yahoo and Google searches but got so many pages of casino crap and other non-magickal stuff that I gave up.

Didn't Crowley write a lot about 777?

I think one of his books was called 777.But in Magick in Theory and Practise its hard to find an explanation,but there are some passages that are referred to whose origins are from this book.

If I remember correctly, the significance of 777 is directly related to the significance of 666. 666 is a number of corruption because it falls short of perfection. Because the world was made in 7 days that is the ideal. 777 then indicates perfection.

Crowleyy's qabalistic dictionary is called 777 - I always thougt this was because 777 = the numbers of the paths (1-22) added u but maybe I'm wrong. 777 has some great essays in though.

777 is what you get when you add up the mystic numbers of all of the paths and sephiroths (the mystic number of each path/sephiroth is just what you get when you add up all the preceding numbers. For instance, the mystic number of Malkuth, the 10th sephiroth, is 55: 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10=55. The mystic number of The Magician/ATU I, or the 12th path, is 78: 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12=78. Hence, 777 equals the totality of the entire tree of life; fitting because that's exactly what 777 the book is a dictionary of.

777...perhaps even more enigmatic than the 666. Most take it to mean "one level above" the 'beast/antichrist' thus making it the number of God.

If we go with that idea for a moment...

Read Genesis. All the clues are there. In fact the esoteric meanings of 26 thread can prove to be a big help here.

Lamech is the 7th generation born of "Adam", son of Methusalah and father of Noah. In Genesis, it clearly states his number is 777. It also states that he was 7 the generation and his vengence would be 77 generations later.

I know most participantsin the magic forum try to steer clear from biblical topics...(*coff*) but I highly reccomend checking it out to take this conversation further.

The other day I saw a 777 on the street, thought "Hmmmm." Then I was temping at a law firm and one of the letters I was typing mentioned a figure of $77,777.77.

I would add that from my observations, the whole the code relative to Initiated Orders revolved around the "CUBE", or the "Q'b", which makes its way back to Q'balla equally.

The CUBE is as the DICE, 1 opposes 6 (Jehovah opposes Isis), 2 opposes 5, 3 opposes 4. Thus the value of each parallel plane as a composite whole is

1+6 = 7 = 1 Parallel Set of Planes
2+5 = 7 = 1 Parallel Set of Planes
3+4 = 7 = 1 Parallel Set of Planes

777...

Thus if you use the what I term the Principle of Occultation, the story of EVE (Isis) and the Serpent (Thoth) is that when "Jehovah god" says, "onto your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life", this is a simple form of coding the above principle of cube.

If you have "snake eyes showing", what will be on the "belly" but a pair of 6's? Since the Occult is predicated on a series of transposions from the Ocular to Occultation to Occult, wheren the Occultation is brought about by a removal of the triangulation (all the bodies in space must be in alighment (or on the same plane of sight), then you need 3 6's to effect the Occultation, or three 1's or "eyes".

In truth, like most of the Occult formulas, there is nothing new under the sun and once you are able to get past the "confused matters" as Plutarch describes, you are able to see the various ways in which everything gets encoded into various formats and allusions.

It should be noted that "Jack in the Box is akin to this "revealing the Occultation, for when the music stops (reason is exhausted, the "meaning is known" or "pops his head out of the Cube".

"Boy in a suitcases's " (is that akin to Jack in a Box equally?)response looks interesting for sure as it is using a series of summations, so I will definitely be checking out your sight to see what you have added to this numeric.

The CODE for JACK is derived from AJK, or the Letter JK, wherein the placement of J and K is 10 and 11 respective...

In shorthand, then, JK = 1011 = 6066, or 666 in the Cube (box)..

One last comment about the esoterics contained in the Letter 7,

The 7th Letter of the English Alphabet (Isisian Set) is the Letter G. If you spin it on its center, you will create the Letter Pei of the Hebrew. It's base esoteric meaning is "Equinox".

The 7th Letter of the Second Half of the Isisian Set (English Alphabet) is the Letter T. Using a serifed form, spin the Letter on its axis, center, and you will create the "mold" to form the Anchor. Thus "ankh" and "anchor" are linked, wherein the sun "sinking in the sky to a depth of the Winter Solstice is the T reversed and the Sun rising to a maximum height of T at the Winter Solstice depicts its apex. It's esoteric meaning is "maximum height of Sun at noon Zenith, exapted at Solstices".

The Letter Z is 7 Letters from T if T is accounted a 1. The Letter Z contains the "conceptual design" of spinning Letters on their axis. Z is the 7 and then spun again, with no Occultation, or hidden factors invoked. It is the principle of completion in that it contains the whole of the design.
