| I gather it's all mix and match, almost purposefully avoiding any known traditions or varieties, but they're making some attempt to make it consistent. Sort of like alternate physical laws, and they try not to break them too often, in order not to insult the audience. Fictional magic is probably best, since otherwise they'd get a lot of obsessive fans pestering them, like those people Mercedes Lackey had to tell off. |
