Miller may well be bi... or he may well not. Given that he's never likely to sleep with me, and I don't fancy him in any case, I hardly see it's any of my business. And it's not really helping us figure out whether his comics are homophobic or not.

I'd say, on the evidence, probably not... though the Aryan Thrust were a very, very cheap joke indeed. I found it hilarious when I was about sixteen... now not so much.

Seriously, I can't understand why you're being resistant to the idea Frank Miller might be bisexual. S'not a crime, and speaking as someone who does not on the whole fancy men, Frank Miller draws some sexy fucking men in Sin City. He draws Marv too, but I don't fancy Marv. Unless you get me pissed enough.

And I can't understand why you, Electric Boogaloo, seem to be failing to grasp the essential ridiculousness of an assertion that an artist might be bisexual based solely on the fact he draws naked men and women.

I had hoped that you were merely repeating the same painfully unfunny joke, again and again, but this incessant repetition prompts me to conclude that you might actually believe that drawing naked people is a sure-fire sign of bisexuality...

I don't think that at all, dude - I think the way he draws naked men is very revealing. Sigh. Just forget this ever happened.

My god, it all makes sense now! When we were kids we all used to draw cocks on other peoples school books and bags when they weren't looking! those fags, I knew it!!

It's funny, whenever I've read Miller's stuff I've never got the feeling that it was anti-women or homophobic, I always just read it as heightened to a stupid level, a continuous parody of a style. Catwoman in Year One was one of the (for her breif cameo) most rounded characters (memory not 100% on this, but was it Miller who made her a prostitute abused, or did he just have her as the s and m mistress, and then the mini-series made her origin up?). But I miss a lot of subtext.

Sandra/Radiator, maybe your obsessive need to restate that you DO NOT IN ANY WAY FANCY MEN except for REALLY GETTING THE HORN FROM FRANK MILLER'S MEN does not reveal or "imply... things" about Miller, but rather things about you? The reader can bring almost as much to the text as the author, you know.

Thinking about it, it's quite hard to draw naked men and NOT be revealing. You'd have to have strategically placed plantpots and wisps of smoke everywhere.

Wait, so I'm a homophobe and I want to fagbash Frank Miller? Is that what you're saying? It's utterly wrong, but is that what you're trying to say?

Jesus Christ.

Miller's use of poise and shadow on his male figures is as sensual and erotic as his female characters. You'll have to forive me for thinking this is somehow relevant in a thread titled "FRANK MILLER HOMOPHOBE?"

Not in the slightest. I'm saying maybe you need to relax about what gets you off.
