Veg Talk

Bit of preChristmas skiving off work this afternoon and listening to my favourite radio show (after The cardiotoxic Archers): Veg Talk with Greg and Charlie, jocular barrow boys, Radio 4, Fridays, 3pm.

Vegetarian Christmas dinners today! Almost makes me wish I still abjured dead flesh. It's like the Larousse Gastronomique explained by David Bellamy. Good for Radio 4 doing a second series after all the stuffed shirts complained about their first one because of their irreverent and unstuffy presentation.

ooh. as a non-working 'Radio 4 in the afternoons type' I *love* Veg talk, can't believe I missed them doing Xmas din-dins... The presentation style is excellent, so completely o.t.t. and definitely not 'cool...ModernBritish' (a la Nigella et al.)

And yeah, Charlie could have G.R. armed only with a tofu roast. And one hand tied behind his back.

Rah. you rool, Xoc.

I've listened to this. It's rather fun. They do seem to have a lot of FUN which is what I'd say is most important in cookery programs. Also, having two people in conversation with each other - two people who like a) their subject matter and b) each other - is very condusive to interesting TV/Radio.

And it's generally interesting, and they tell you fun stuff to do with veg. It's certainly cornered a market.

Boom. Boom.
