Vertigo X Preview

I recently read a blurb about Vertigo X Preview in an issue of Comic Shop News. Anybody else hear about this? Diamond Comics story here. The thing that's got me sold on this title is the 8 page "Shade: The Changing Man" story with Peter Milligan & Mike Allred. I have yet to see the finished product (which, at a mere 99 cents, may be newsprint), but this looks pretty promising. Let's hope this isn't an one-off project.

Just an update of the old previews like Vertigo Jam and so forth. Usually a bunch of excerpted pages and one new short story. Still, can't beat Milligan/Allred for 99 cents...

Hmmm, a comic where the two most newsworthy items are based on titles which Vertigo doesn't actually run any more. Good to see the imprint is in good shape then!

And, in an even more bitchy frame of mind, did Heidi McDonald actually commision anything that didn't get cancelled?

Based on the fact that Vertigo is sustained mainly for the kudos rather than on what it actually sells, is there a hope in hell that the forthcoming Marvel 'mature' imprint isn't going to go the way of the rest of them?
