Is it true that the Trade Market version of "Bloody Hell in America" eliminated page 24 of the fourth part of "Black Science"? If so, what happened on this page, it was the only page I have not read. Does the line "Welcome to the death of the real" appear on this page, I have not seen that line anywhere else in the series?

The french edition of the trade had the page, though.

Bastards. I guess this decision was made by the same geniuses at DC who cut stuff from Doom Patrol: Crawling from the Wreckage. It's an ongoing series, so we need all the material, not just the one story. Too late now though, anybody got a scan of the page. At least, there's a little bit of new Invisibles left to discover.

I'm thinking of setting up a webpage of 'missing pages' or unreprinted stuff for different comics, including Invisibles, Capt Britain, Miracleman, and any others I think of. I'll set this up soon on www.fish1000.freeserve.co.uk - I'll let you know when this is up.

If anyone has the re-done pages from Invisibles vol 3 scanned, they would be useful to have for those of us that bought the original issues.

Billy the Fish was actually a distant uncle - Unfortunately, I didn't inherit any of his footballing skills, though I did once meet Martin Kemp at a charity match, when he was playing for Rovers.

We are only slightly physiologically similiar, though our hair is the same.

Thanks for confirming this bit of news. A friend told me that the trades had excised many pages, but he made it seem like they butchered the series. I couldn't tell since, like Sypha, I never read the original comics.

Are there any more pages missing other than page 24 of Black Science and the Hexen mini?

I wouldn't have thought so, but then I didn't know about that excised page before this thread popped up.

The cover for 2.13 in the trades excises the exchange of witty banter found on the original issue's cover (where "Anarchy for the masses!" was taken from).

Oh, btw, Dan Fish e-mailed me tonight and told me he's currently locked out of Barbelith because he forgot his password. But he did tell me that he put page 24 of Black Science #4 up in his website, under "Lost and Found" (just click on his link above).

Well, now I can safely say I've read the entire Invisibles series. Well... Except for that King Mob mini-issue or whatever it was.

Actually, there is at least one more page excised from the trades, but it's hardly important. I refer to page 1 of vol.3 Issue 12 (the first of the countdown). It would have been the first page in THE INVISIBLE KINGDOM trade. It was essentially a potrait of the original team with a brief synopsis of them and the series. Also had a nice tip of the hat to Barbelith.com.

So...why was the page missing (referring to page in topic header)? Was it the "Virtua-Rapist" bit maybe? It might not have been the most significant in the series or anything, but it wasn't so unimportant as to be worthy of excision. That kinda burns my ass just a bit.

I think it was simple editorial fiat. The page leaves the story at a cliffhanger and Vertigo wasn't sure if further TPBs would sell. Black Science aka "Bloody Hell In America" was only the 2nd TPB and DC probably felt it was better to craft a TPB with a distinct end. It makes a lot of sense if you look at it from their perspective. I'm sure they'd have left the page if they knew the TPBs would sell.

The word Sypha is from Sypha Belnades, a character you can play as in Castlevania 3. When I chose it as my on-line nick I didn't know it was a girl's name.

Nadon is from Momaw Nadon, the Hammerhead in the cantina in the first Star Wars film's real name. That was my favorite Star Wars character as a kid.
