Why Horus

Why do they say we are entering Horus' age?, I mean, I understand the astrological behind the age of acuarius, but, why did Crowley (if it was him) choose to use the egyptian pantheon?, and why are we entering the age of Horus, and what was last age?

Isis->Osiris->Horus

the Age of Isis represents the age of matriarchal "Earth Mother" socioreligious structures. Sex.
the Age of Osiris represents the age of the father, stern Monotheism, etc. Death.
the Age of Horus is the crowned and conquering child, new ideas, etc. Light.

I don't think this answered your question at all.

Note that Horus is the crowned and Conquering child, also referred to as the Warrior Child. While he brings light and a new paradigm for humanity, the coming of the Aeon of Horus was predicted by Crowley (via Aiwass) to be attended by much conflict and war. The old structures must be destroyed (the Tower) so that the new may be developed. This is the evolution of humanity. This conflict is plainly evident in the myriad of wars around us at this time, as is the growing need for a better way of relating to the world, lest we destroy ourselves.

The Aeon is a child at play with coloured balls. IAO, all things renewed by fire.

Now, if IIRC, Crowley didn't predict Horus itself, because it was a known part of astrological thinking... but did he predict war? And was this not part of the expected vibe of Horus?

Presumably he chose to use the Egyptian pantheon for PR reasons. Egyptology was fashionable at the time, kinda like virtual reality was a few years back. For good or ill, thelemic thought got stuck in that worldview. Perhaps one reason why Unlce Al may have been interested in creating a more poppy current with a more western style in the 40s.

Note that predecting war is a bit like predecting that the sun will rise tomorrow.

2step, it is told that Crowley's Scarlet Woman of the time, went into trance in front of the Stellae of Revealing, 666, while they were seeing some Egyptian museum display. This began the channeling of Liber Al, which makes the Egyptian theme appropriate.

Yes, that's the story from the Autohagiography and elsewhere. I'm not saying Uncle Al and co weren't channelling entities from the ancient egyptian past.

But it was it was an awfully popular and glamourous mythos at the time, and tying in a new magickal / consciousness current into that was terribly convenient in PR terms. Personally I think Crowley was a smart enough magus to figure that out and that it wasn't accidental. This is scarcely a new suggestion, nor is it an insulting one.
