But ya do. What mental pictures do we draw up from people's words? When we read a thread what do we see? This is much more interesting than the usual gushing bollocks.

Haus- Small, but not frail, dark mousy brown hair, intense looks, frowning hard, with a look of disdain that only the cerebrally unchallenged can remove.

Ganesh and ZoCher- one of you is fairly big, bear like and hairy. The other one is slightly smaller, big, bear like and hairy. You're both good looking in an ugly kind of way, and are both very very very much in love with life and each other. And lots of leather.

Nick- I've seen a picture so I'm cheating, but you're very content with yourself and your acumen, except for a milli-second last thing at night and first thing in the morning.

Flyboy- waspish and intense

BitchieKittie- Been there, seen that - with a (beautiful) face that shows it.

Mordant Carnival- been there seen that, with the post card in your backpocket. Can't see the face.

that's it.

What impression did you get from Knowledge, Sauron? And, perhaps dangerously, what do you think Tom looks like?

I just see text for most replies, guess I haven't been interacting with the board long enough to come up with mental pictures for more than two people

Sauron- I can't help it but everytime I see this word I think of the green dinosaur guy from "X-men".

Haus- English professor. Wire-rimmed glasses. Tweed jacket with leather patches on the elbows. Having my grammer corrected here kind of cements that image.

I think I'm going more for the fuck off cat's eye in the sky kinda look ...

Knowledge- Blonde hair- slightly thinning, metal in eye brow, pale skin, very plain features. Very very mild wild/ devious look in the eyes.

Giant eye huh? I don't know, the image of a giant pterodactyl man hunched over a keyboard pecking at the keys with his talons makes me giggle like a giddy little school girl.

I picture Haus as looking and sounding a lot like Jarvis Cocker.

I read everything that Flyboy writes as if he's speaking with an American accent. I've always pictured him as looking a bit WASPy 'golden boy'-ish, almost like the blonde guy from Scooby Doo.

I picture Glint/Pin as looking and acting just like Jack Frost from the Invisibles.

I see Rizla as having short dark hair and glasses, very skinny, and wearing a lot of old clothes with pins and badges all over...

I picture Grant as being a older guy with a big mustache and a fedora.

I see Peresphone as being a tall, thin woman with long brown hair wearing dark colors, very nice clothes.

I picture Sweet Jane as looking a lot like Jonny from Radiohead, but with blonde hair.

I see Kit Kat Club as being small, with short blonde hair and glasses. I see her dressing very well, vaguely yuppie-ish.

I don't have a solid mental picture for Expressionless, but I have a feeling he's really, really, really tall.

I imagine Captain Zoom has glowing red eyes, and can fly.

you know when you've "arrived" when people form mental images of you

even mental images of you being impaled on a stake means they've at least thought of you

I know that guy, actually. For someone with a degenerative bone disease that types with their feet, he gets more women that is even remotely logical. Karma at work, surely.

I'm Jarvis Cocker!
[/spartacus]

For some reason, I always picture Jack The Bodiless with a Cheshire-like grin. Except more sly.

Ierne I see as her picture of the Wildean relation. Though wearing 5th Element-style boots.

For some reason, I get the tweeds image with Haus, too. Although sometimes a pith helmet is involved.

I picture posters with veins standing out of their necks a lot, particularly in the Head Shop.

I don't know what sort of an image I give over. I'd like to think a smoking jacket is involved.

My sister used to get all excited about Mr. Cocker, too. You're the only women I've met who've had a thing for that guy.... Y'know Glassonion once mooned him? He, Friendlyboy and a nameless twart drove past him, pedalling frantically away on his bike.

"Oi! Cocker!" came the cry.

And out came the arse.

You should beat him up for that, later.

Oh, and you're wrong, Knodge is a bright, beaming, sunny woman in her late forties.

Knowledge- Early 20s, light brown hair, dark eyebrows that would touch in the middle if he didn't shave them. Little patch of hair under his chin. Strong looking forearms, thin upper arms. Skin slightly orangish from fake tanning products. He wears a red baseball cap, baggy pants, Nike cross trainers and a football jersey.

Flux- about 6'3", 190lbs. He has blonde hair cut in that slightly messy/ could be spikey if he put something in it sort of way. He owns lots of different shoes. Wears t-shirts from that cool little clothing store no one knows about underneath overly expensive running jackets. Always hanging out with girls. Well dressed pretty boy. Flux=often mistaken as gay.

Rage- Looks young, early 20s maybe. She has a nose piercing. Her hair is died black (this week). She wears goth/raver/hippy clothing all at once, to her its completely interchangable. Punky Brewster for the millenium. Backpack instead of purse. Her shoes are worn from walking. She has a WWJD necklace just for laughs. She sits across from people and asks embarassing questions on the bus. If she catches you looking at her she screams WHAT! and everyone looks. She wants to bum a smoke and doesn't say thank you.

Expressionless looks like Old Tom from the Invisibles. Big, bald, giant beard. That pic in issue two or three when he chops Dane on the head- thats him banging on his drums.

SFD- is 6'2" and weighs 105lbs. She wears tight leather skirts and knee high boots. She has a harem of man-bitches at her beck and call. She carries a crop. Fear her.

Guns 'n' Runces looks like Bobby Ewing.

Jack the Bodiless looks like Camp Freddy.

Tyrone Lovelaces looks like Frankie Knuckles.

Jade looks like Enrique Iglesias.

Trijhaos
09:58 / 15.02.02
Jade- a bronzed god like figure. Think the Statue of David wearing a jade loincloth

Jack the Bodiless- The floating head of Jack from "Jack and the Beanstalk".

Flyboy - short little man with a zorro like mustache and a manic grin. always wears a leather bomber jacket, aviator goggles, and a jetpack.

pointless and uncalled for
11:56 / 15.02.02
OK, a few names here no offense to those not included.

Jack the Bodiless - Slightly Steven King in body type but with more of a Jeremy Irons face. Posts from a bronze divination bowl in the depths of a sacred cave illuminated by three candles - 1 red, 1 white, 1 green.

Ganesh - Short wirey gentleman, hairy but receding hairline. red wirey hair as well. Loose agnes b suit, very thin sunglasses. Possible hyperthyroidism.

SFD - Shorter. Not as at as she thinks she is. Jeans, retro TV T, leather jacket, many items of metal hanging from various body parts. Shaved pixie head. Deep, deep eyes.

Sauron - dark neo technomancer. Kind of Reeves in The Matrix but with more Dennis Leary in his Lock and Load era. Probably an ex skater.

Haus - Tall, gaunt and bespectacled. Short 30's hair beneath his fedora. Will always be book in hand. Captain Darling style twitch. Faraway kind of voice like someone is shouting at you from the other end of the street.

E. Randy Dupre: 6' 5". Head of thick, black hair, dashing, windswept. Chiseled good looks, permanent five o'clock shadow. Slight scar down right cheek (the result of a duel over a lady's honour? A fencing accident?) Bright, sharp blue eyes. Broad shoulders. Impeccably well-tailored.

Oh yeah. That's the stuff.

!!!

Actually, I suppose it's not too far off, though the blonde bit is wrong. Also, I am definitely not a yuppie - I'm not really mobile in any direction at the moment - sort of stasis effect...

Flux I see as being lanky, dark blonde hair (mussed), wire-framed specs, jeans, shirt (not tucked in), possibly with very pale blue stripes, Converse shoes

Ierne I see as being very dark and dramatic (perhaps that's the photo though)

I can't do it with people I already know...

I see Ganesh as the Midnighter.

Rizla as Ben Grimm's nephew... Aquarius ...the Aquarian?

ZoCher as Nick Fury from Shield. Drawn by Steranko.

Haus as The Punisher.

Whiskey Priestess as Thundera

Ariadne as one of those 1940s exploitation Good Girl Art superheroines in a leather outfit and perpetually tied to a chair-

ahem.

Actually, Ariadne could be the old Spiderwoman, too.

Tom as The Watcher. Or Galactus, depending on what mood he's in.

Jack Fear as Fury from the Howlin' Commandos days.

Cherry Bomb as Medusa from the Inhumans.

In fact, I see you all as 2D comic characters. I think I might go to the pub, now.
