Car magic

My car is old. Like made in 1985 old. Like "it's falling apart" old. And I can't quite pay for a new one yet, not till next month. So I'm trying to use magic to keep it going.

First it kept stalling. I had a mechanic fix it. It still kept stalling. They did a huge tune-up job. It still didn't work, kept stalling whenever it stopped. One day I said this spell to it: "Car drive well, when cast I this spell, get me to (school/home whatever), alive and well" (simple rhyme I know but I wanted something I'd remember. I then announced I would incant this spell everytime I went for a ride and the car would work. Lo and behold, it stopped stalling.

Today I decided I wanted to use my tape player (radio stations around here suck). Problem is it's been broken for months now. I grabbed a tape and said the first words that popped in my head, something like "This tape will play, when I put it in today, I put the tape in, today it would play" (again, another bad rhyme but I was improvising off the top of my head). I put the tape in, and to my surprise it worked perfectly!

Now the breaks are squeaking, which means I'll have to fix those. I think my car is possessed by demons and I wonder if I should perform an exorcism.

It's not demons - it's just being held together by Will more than metal and plastic.

Mine finally died a few months ago - it was an 89 with over 200k on it. It's amazing what a few good words can pull out of a car.

For awhile back I tried talking to the car: "Come on old boy, just a few more minutes, you can do it, you can do it". But this usually resulted in it working even worse (maybe it was mad because I thought I was being patronizing).

Maybe you should have tried "Come on old girl?"

Maybe, though it seems to switch genders on a weekly basis (yeah, I'm one of those lame-o's who gives their car a name, but I change the name constantly).

I used to call my car 'The Dragon of Death',and believe me,never has a sense of mortality been so focussed as it was behind that wheel.
Many a time did it stall, moan, bitch and squeal, but there were times when it ran like a dream ,and with the window down I thought I was flying. It was alive,it had moods,it looked after me.the affinity we had will stay with me forever.Sod Anne McCaffrey, just get yourself a

i have a funny story about my car in the magick department...
a few months ago when i started dating my recent girlfriend (she's the saem in the aura trouble thread who "sees" auras), my car would always stall when we would go out. one night when this happened we were stranded for an hour in an empty parking lot. as a joke i told her to try and fix it with some sort of psychic stuff... because she always claimed to have weird experiences with this kind of thing. needless to say it worked. however this happened on three different incidents. once on a busy intersection and on the side of a highway. same deal... the strange thing is, is that i would use the car for the entire week , and it would run fine, but it would usually occur when we go out on a date. whatever... i've just dissmissed it as coincidence, figuring since the car is from '89.

Jealousy perhaps? Desperate cries for attention?

I'd just like to say thanks for this thread. I've just bought my first car for what I consider not an insubstantial amount of money and because of a minor but difficult to find and proving expensive to fix fault I haven't really been able to drive it yet, which I'm less than happy about. This thread just cheered me up and I may just have to try magic.

I mean I named it and everything, why does it hate me?
